SAVE
THE SCHOOL

Built in
1926, the Old Woodbine School was the center of education for hundreds
of students from Camden County until it was closed in 1992. Now it
serves as the Camden Community Center and the site of the annual reunion
of the former students during the Crawfish Festival. Restoration
work on the eight classrooms, school auditorium and cafeteria is
underway, supervised by the Old School Renovation Committee.
All
proceeds from the Woodbine Opry potluck meals, cake raffle and thrift
store are used to fund the restoration work at the Old Woodbine School.
You can read more about the restoration efforts in the various news
articles in the OPRY NEWS link to the left.
Your
donations to help in the restoration of this much-loved Woodbine
landmark are greatly appreciated and your support of the Woodbine Opry
will help us restore our favorite school to its former
glory.
Thanks to everyone for all their help and support---it's a good thing
we're doing here!
